Will i be CONTROLLED?
In hypnotherapy, you are in full control. You cannot be forced into hypnosis and it's not mind control. Have you ever heard the saying “You can lead a horse to water but you cannot make it drink” Much like hypnotherapy your subconscious mind will not allow you to partake in anything that is unsafe or uncomfortable for you. Generally, though, hypnotherapy is thought to be more effective if you enter into it with an open mind and want to make a change.
How many sessions will i need?
Depending on your specific situation and reasons for seeking treatment. It could be anywhere from 4 to 8 sessions. For example, smoking cessation can be addressed in a single session lasting up to two hours. While other issues may need regular weekly sessions over a longer period. Once initial session has taken place I will be able to advise you on the number of sessions needed and adjust as based on your progress.
how long are the sessions?
Typically a session is around 50-60 minutes. However sessions may be 2 hours for cases such as smoking cessation and gastric band hypnosis. Couples sessions are usually around 90 minutes.
Is hypnotherapy safe for children?
Hypnotherapy for children and young people is both effective and safe. Children tend to respond very well to hypnosis as they are naturally quite imaginative and creative. They are able to use their subconscious minds a lot more than adults do. Hypnotherapy can useful for a number of issues commonly experienced in childhood, such as exam stress, sleep problems, bed-wetting, phobias and fears.
ARE SESSIONS IN PERSON OR ONLINE?
Face to face is preferred as I feel it is the most effective for building a connection. Building a relationship with your therapist is key to your success. However I do offer online sessions if requested.
